When you eat too much food, you are training your body to go into “fat storage” mode, which makes you gain weight.

The key to stop overeating is to start feeling full faster, and luckily there are natural and healthy ways to do this.  One of my favorite ways to do this is to eat more fiber.

This “fullness nutrient” makes you feel fuller faster, and you also feel full for longer periods of time.

Fiber comes from the rough part of plants and vegetables that “clean out” your digestive organs that get clogged with toxins.

This is a VERY good thing.

When you have more fiber in your diet, you get:

No more belly bloating!

• More energy from digesting and absorbing nutrients from foods

• Get full faster (less overeating!)

• Feel full longer

• Clean, healthy, toxin-free organs

All of these lead to a faster, healthier metabolism and natural weight loss.  So you can see why I’m such a big fan of fiber.

1. Eat whole fruits and vegetables.

While juicing is healthy for you because you are getting vitamins, you are eliminating  the most important part for losing weight and detoxing your system from the inside.

The fiber is found in the rough part of the plant, flower, bud, root, or skin. 

Whether it’s eating the skin of your grapefruit, or the stalks of your broccoli, whatever kind of fruit or vegetable it is, they all have one thing in common…

Fiber!

Eat as much of the fruit/vegetable as you can – all that is safe to eat and considered “edible”.

I eat the stalks, leaves, stems, seeds, skins, and roots of my favorite fruits and vegetables whenever possible.  However they are found in their natural form when they grow up from, or out of the Earth …

That’s the best way to get ALL the nutrients including the fiber from your favorite fruits and vegetables!

2. Eat raw nuts.

Raw, natural nuts are an amazing source of fiber.

Add a handful to your daily “mini-Meals” like oatmeal, salads, soups, vegetables…

One of my favorite afternoon “mini-Meals” is a seasonal piece of fruit in a bowl with cinnamon and almonds – Delish!

3. Add fiber to your morning shake.

I start every morning with a healthy, brown rice protein shake that contains a blend of powdered fruits and vegetables, and then I add a scoop of fiber to make it even more healthy.

It’s like starting every morning with a cleanse from the inside-out without the dangers like other harsh, abrasive detoxing and cleansing methods.

The fiber that I use comes from the Psyllium plant, and it’s just ground up psyllium husk = 100% pure fiber.

This Is A New Year And A New Beginning!

Today is the Chinese New Year – The “Year Of The Dragon”…

The Dragon is considered the luckiest of all the Chinese Signs, and it is the only one that is a mystical creature and not an animal. 

In The Year Of The Dragon, everyone gets luckier and you are able to create more, do more, dream bigger, and achieve greater… if you choose to.

So what is YOUR wish for this new year?…

If you could have anything, and create anything for yourself and your body this year, what would it be?

Don’t limit yourself.  Really look into your heart, close your eyes, take a ~deep breath~ and see what comes up for you when you have no restrictions and nothing holding you back. 

I’m choosing to create the fittest, healthiest, and happiest version of ME ever. 

I’m ready to be TRUE to my heart, and NOURISH my body like never before. 

I want to be calm, peaceful, happy, and EXCITED about this amazing body that I’ve been given.

This year, I’m setting new goals for my body and self.

Birthday, A Day For Finding More Joy And Happiness Than You Ever Knew Was Possible…

Plan The Perfect Birthday Party With Some Great Ideas.

Today is my birthday, but I don’t really feel like celebrating.  I woke up this morning feeling down and gloomy…

Maybe it’s because this has been the hardest year of my life. After two relationship break-ups, and feeling more “alone” than ever…

It can ONLY be a blessing that this is the last day of my 33rd year (…few! I made it).

As I look back, I also see that this year has brought many, many GIFTS.

- I’m healthier than I’ve ever been.

- I’m more “at peace” in my body and skin
than I ever imagined possible.

- I’ve created the body of my dreams, not just in the way it looks, but how it SUPPORTS me and NOURISHES me every day.

It Wasn’t Always Like This…

You know what I did this morning to chase my blues away?…

Eleven years ago, I would’ve turned to french toast with ice cream to stuff down my feelings of loneliness and depression. But today, I went for a run through a park!  Crazy, huh.

As soon as I stepped outside, I felt this surge of POWER and GRACE sweep through me. I felt STRONGER.  Healthier.  More ALIVE.

And as I ran to my favorite tunes, my ~breath~ started to DEEPEN, and my body began to “purge” all the emotions that were so overwhelming just a few moments before.

All the clouds of depression began to clear away.

I felt FREE, and I began to see all the AMAZING gifts that I have in my life. And at the heart of it all –  there is the GIFT of this amazing body!

This body that carries me through the “ups and downs” of heartbreak and breakdowns. 

This body that ~breathes~ LIFE into me every moment.

This body that never leaves me.

This body that is my best friend.

I can’t say that I’m completely free of all those negative thoughts that were surrounding me this morning…

But I can promise you that I’m NOT listening as closely to them anymore.  I see these thoughts now as as “my teacher” that pushed me to go outside and go for a run.  

Those Depressing Thoughts GAVE Me
A Chance To Grow Stronger…

I’m not fighting them, but I’m not obsessing about them anymore either.
