Much like you, I’ve battled with my weight for most of my life. Sure, I may be down to my ideal body weight today, but it wasn’t always that way.
I was born with the "fat genes" that you're probably all too familiar with. In fact, my family and most of my relatives were considered obese.

I wasn't born with motivation. I struggled with negative self-talk, self-defeating habits, obsessive "excuse-making", fair-weather-friend willpower, you name it.
What I didn’t realize was that there is nothing more deadly to your chances of losing weight than negative self-talk.
I used to think:
"If only I had more willpower…”
“If only I weren't so lazy…”
“If only I could find that magic pill or supplement…”
I constantly put myself down … announced my inadequacies … and blamed everyone and everything for the body that I disliked so much.
I put “fat pictures” of myself on my refrigerator to remind myself that I was pig every time I went into the kitchen.
I was so desperate to lose weight that I even bought into those diet pill scams they sell on the internet... and I'm a smart woman!
I feel so ashamed now when I look back on that... but I was desperate and willing to try anything.
For many years I suffered in silence and didn't talk about how disappointed I was with being overweight because I guess I thought I sounded self-centered or narcissistic.
I felt miserable and insecure … always chasing some type of “magic solution” that would make me look slimmer and feel great.
How An Amazing Discovery Turned It All Around
And Got Me Back Into My High School Jeans
I was 22 when I had what I sometimes refer to as my “spiritual awakening.”
I don’t mean this in a “religious” sense and it didn’t happen in a church or any kind of formal context-- but it was certainly the most profound experience of my life...
It was a simple and sudden KNOWING that I was profoundly connected to every living creature.
For the first time in my life I had the powerful realization that there was more to me than just body and mind. I had discovered the “deeper self” that is both body and mind... and something more… And for the first time I knew that I was cherished by the Universe.

You might already be someone who considers themselves “spiritual” and sees the “bigger picture” in life. But this was completely new to me.
Now you’re probably scratching your head and wondering what any of this could possibly have to do with a magical discovery that took me from a size 12 back to size 2...
But as I am going to explain, it was this new-found connection to spirit and higher purpose that ultimately caused the weight to just effortlessly slip right off of my body.

In ancient Greek Mythology, the soul or spirit is usually represented by the goddess Persephone (per-se-fo-nee). And when I read the story about Persephone I recognized something about my own story (and maybe YOUR story too)...
Persephone was the daughter of Demeter, who we think of as “Mother Nature”.
When Persephone was kidnapped and hidden underground, Mother Nature was so upset that the whole world became barren and infertile. Nothing would grow or bloom. Life began to die off as no plants would sprout and no babies were born.
But when Persephone escaped from her prison where she had been hidden away beneath the ground... nature rejoiced... and the world once again filled with life energy, flowers bloomed, the plants grew strong, and all of life thrived.
Of course this is just a story… but when you consider that Persephone represents the spirit, you begin to understand what this story means.
When you ignore your spirit and hide it away, other aspects of your life… even your biology suffers.
It was the same experience for me. When I discovered how to free my soul from where I had hidden it away and ignored it, my body transformed and bloomed into radiant health.
And while I know it’s hard to believe, I’ll explain exactly how this process worked for me, how it has worked for hundreds of other people, and how it can work for YOU too...
The Four Pillars Of Weight Loss
I always thought that weight loss came down to only THREE things: The body, the mind, and the emotions.
The body: diet and exercise
The mind: willpower and self-talk
The emotions: motivation and mood
I knew that I’d have to get all 3 handled to get the slim body that I wished for…
I knew the body could effect the mind and the emotions by sending out hormones that triggered hunger, cravings, depression, and an army of negative thought patterns designed to sabotage any effort at losing weight...

And once I learned how to access this piece of the puzzle, everything fell into balance.
Instead of dealing with lots of “parts” I was able to approach my entire system as one “self”.
You can NEVER lose weight and keep it off by posting a fat picture on your refrigerator and trying to make yourself angry enough with your body to stay away from the foods you crave…
It might work for a few days… but it’s just exhausting to keep up with it. You have to keep feeling negative about yourself to keep yourself from eating… but it’s those same negative thoughts that trigger the cravings!
Eventually, of course, your willpower fails.
